“At Mala Earth we aim to provide our customers with tools to live a more conscious and mindful life. We are a small passionate multi talented team. We love what we do. We love our community, and we love to share lots of inspiration and have a good laugh along the way.
We also care deeply about doing good business so we leave a better world for the next generation.”
About me (Rebecca) and Mala Earth…
The Mala Earth concept was created by me, I’m Rebecca by the way, and I have a deep passion and desire to build businesses with heart. I’ve practiced yoga and meditation for a long time and have worked on and in all sorts of businesses for all of my adult life. More recently, as the founder of Mala Earth and as an independent business consultant, working with an interesting and diverse ranges of clients…
It’s taken a while (with a lot of messing up and self-discovery adventures along the way), to land here. But I can genuinely say I LOVE what I do and although I have a tendency to overwork; I feel, with all the cells in my body, this is my dharma. (my purpose) “to show how we can breath life into our dreams so we can all live our very own inspired lives.”
All ‘inspired’ talk aside, I do expect this ‘thing’ I do to get tiring at times, I do expect to continue messing up, and I definitely do expect to continue learning and pivoting into new directions continuing to evolve and change along the way. I’d want nothing more than a lifetime of experiences to grow from and I am committed to remaining open to however it unfolds.
At the very heart of it all, I really want to influence sustainable change, responsible innovation and inspire effective leadership… This angle has unfolded more and more in my time building Mala Earth, which started as my incubator business so I could learn how to take an idea to market.
You maybe wondering why malas!? Well, I’ve had some first-hand experience with the healing benefits of this sacred Mala jewellery, where in 2013 after completing my MBA I was completely burnt out. After doctor’s orders to take some time off, I travelled to Hawaii to heal. It was on the garden island of Kauai where I brought my first Mala. This one was made with clear crystal quartz, a stone I later found out is the master healing stone… This time in Hawaii was the beginnings of a new direction in my life. I went on to pursue travels to Bali to study and become a yoga teacher. This is where I discovered Aum Rudraksha Designs who would become our family Mala Makers.
It’s funny in life how things pivot and turn, but if there is anything I’ve learned it’s to be open to seeing the opportunities and to be brave enough to step forward when your gut says so, even when you can’t see clearly where the path is going …
“Aum Rudraksha Designs believes that its benefits should be shared with the ones responsible of its success. We are proud to give back 20% of all our benefits to the wonderful people who cultivate our beads, create our malas and with the ones who need our help and support.
Buying a Mala, you do more than a simple purchase. In addition to dedicate yourself to live in peace, you contribute to better the life of others. You give access to water to numerous families less privileged in Bali, you improve the Health and Medical care access, support mothers to give birth in good conditions, saving their life and the one of their baby. You also allow many children to have access to education which has the power to make the world a better place improving health conditions, raising income, promoting gender equality and reducing poverty.”
